About Us at Sew Creative.
Sew Creative was based in rural Dairy Flat, Albany, New Zealand for a number of years, Two years ago Sew Creative moved to Kerikeri in the Far North. They still have a range of patchwork and quilting supplies available on their web site at competitive prices. Sew Creative is 100% New Zealand owned and operated by Cheryll, and Robin.
Cheryll has always loved any sort of craft and over the years has tried her hand at pretty much anything - from quilting to teddy bear making, paper tole to cross-stitch, fabric painting to covered boxes, and even cake decorating. She does have an eye for detail and can often be accused of being too fussy!
Robin has always been very supportive of Cheryll and has spent many hours trailing along at craft shows or filling in time while she shops. In 1996 they decided to buy a small shop in Orewa where Cheryll could work and create at the same time! The shop focused more on sewing machines and embroidery back then, but over the years the trend has changed more towards patchwork and quilting. Originally heryll wasn’t interested in patchwork and quilting, but that soon changed and she caught the bug big time. She LOVES fabrics – so much so that it wasn’t long until a bigger shop was needed! In the meantime Robin was made redundant from his job as a Financial Manager for a Pharmaceutical company, so they decided to take the plunge and move to a much larger shop in Albany where Robin became involved in the business too..
After operating the Albany shop for three years, a health issue late in 2007 precipitated a change in lifestyle and they now have a web site with on-line buying facilities.
Many of Sew Creative's products are on this web-site and more will be added more as time goes on.
Cheryll and Robin hope you enjoy www.sewcreative.co.nz as much as they have enjoyed putting it together.
